Abstract:Based on the equation of heat conduction for strip under ultra fast cooling, cooling rate up to 300℃/s for hot strip below 4 mm, the convective heat transfer coefficient was calculated by finite difference method. And on the basis of the ultrafast cooling experiments of 20 mm thickness hot strip, the coefficient of convective heat transfer of hot strip under ultrafast cooling was investigated in the laboratory. The relation between the coefficient of the convective heat transfer and cooling water flow was obtained. The result shows that in certain flow rate range, with the increase of water flow rate, the heat transfer coefficient is increased gradually. The calculated heat transfer coefficient is in good agreement with measured.
