Abstract:Reduction of edgedrop of coldrolled strips is still a problem.The control idea and strategy of AEC(Automation Edge Drop Control) system imported from Japan was studied.Some shortcomings of this control system were brought out,such as invalidation of model prediction ability,improper parameters of feedback control model and imperfection of control strategy making edge drop out of control.The system was optimized. The practical data show that the optimized control system can reduce the edgedrop obviously,especially at the operation side.
