Abstract:An overall study of hot rolling texture and the evolution of cold rolling and recrystallization textures in 50W600 electrical steels were conducted by orientation distribution function analysis and experiments on cold rolling and annealing. Results show that the hot band presents almost random texture and the intensity of αfibre texture is weak. With increasing cold rolling deformation rate the intensity of αfibre texture is increased, the intensity of {001}<110> and {112}<110> are 12 and 14 respectively at the cold reduction rate of 81%. With increasing annealing temperature and holding time the intensity of αfibre texture is weakened and the intensity of {001}<110> and {112}<110> is greatly decreased but the {111}<112> of γ fibre texture is significantly increased, presenting that most of grains are oriented along γfibre texture. It’s favorable to develop the cold rolled nonoriented electrical steels with strong {100} texture by controlling the parameters of cold rolling and annealing.
