Abstract:Thin slab casting and rolling (TSCR) technology has made much progress in China. Not only the productivity but also the product quality with special characteristics has been improved gradually. Much progress was made in producing fine and ultra fine grain steel and Nb, V, Ti micro alloy high strength steel, improving hot strip quality for cold rolling, increasing ratio of thinner strips and developing ferritic rolling technique. The precipitation strengthening mechanism by nanoprecipitates has been studied deeply. Some equipment and relative technologies of TSCR have been developed domestically. More attention will be paid to the study on influence of production route on productivity, product quality and structure optimization to improve the competitiveness of TSCR in future.
