Abstract: Based on the manufactory of 1860MPa grade PC strand, the damage of materials in drawing was investigated by using the damage mechanics theory. With the help of ABAQUS software, a new damage model of steel wire drawing process was proposed. Furthermore, the damage of steel wire in drawing was calculated. The computational results show that the damage of steel wire is periodically distributed and the maximum damage is common appeared on some nodes. With the increase of the deformation degree, the damage of steel wire increase from 0.0034 to 0.0136, but the increments gradually decrease. The damage of steel wire is uniformly distributed and the maximum damage of steel wire is low when the pass draught was from 16% to 18%.
