Mathematical and physical simulation of flow field of molten steel in three-strand tundish
The flow field of molten steel in the three-strand tundish has been researched by the commercial software CFX and the water simulation. After analyzing and comparing the flow state of the original and improved tundish, the results have been made as follow: The results of mathematical and physical simulation are same. The short road flow is found in the original tundish, the volume of dead zone are large and more than get 50%. After the improvement of the tundish, the flow performance of the molten steel in the tundish get better and the dead volume fraction reduce sharply to less than 20%, the minimum value is only 9.41%. The results of industry experiments have been found as follow: After the improvement of the tundish, the biggest temperature difference between near outlet and far outlet decreases from 5℃ to 2℃, the accident rate decreased obviously and the expected metallurgical effects have been achieved.

Mathematical and Physical Simulation to the Free Surface in Tundish
Applying the method of numerical analogy of computer, the influences of the height of dam, the depth of weir, the distance between dam and weir and the level height on free surface in tundish were studied. The result of numerical calculation was validated by the method of hydraulic analogy. The production provides avail bases to optimize tundish design and decrease wrap slag.

The Influence of Weirs and Dams Setting on Molten Steel Flow Behaviour in Tunish
According to the structure and the operating parameters of tunish at a steel plant, the molten steel flow behaviour in tunish has been investigated by numerical simulation. RTD-C-Curves(Residual Time Distribution) were gained by computing transient flow in tunish. At the end of each experiment, the computer computed the values of key parameters(e.g. Plug Volume %, Dead Volume % etc) from C-Curve.The influences of the flow modifier on the fluid flow in tunish during continuous casting of the slab were studied through orthogonal tests. The flow modifiers with rational design could improve the behaviour of the fluid flow in tunish, accelerate inclusions floating, decrease volume fraction of the dead flow. The result of simulations showed that the flow modifiers could improve the flow behaviour of molten steel in tunish; the flow field with the 9# flow modifier was more rational, the volume fraction of the dead flow decreased obviously, molten steel mixed more even.

Analysis and solving measures on surface longitudinal crack of continuous cast slab causing
The carbon content of the steel, general produced in Lingyuan Iron & steel Co., LTD. continuous casting slab, is 0.08 ~ 0.16% peritectic steel. As the high casting speed made the meniscus heat-flow increases, serious surface cracks occured. By optimizing the technics, the equipment parameters and the structure of SEN and using the mold powder of good performance let the mold flow, the temperature and the solidified shell solidification uniformed, led the casting slab surface defect eliminated.

The optimization of steel purification and protective casting technology for CSP CC
In this work, the optimization of steel purification and protective casting technology in the production process of Hansteel’s CSP CC is introduced. The improvement successfully prevents the secondary oxygenation, promotes floating and removing of inclusions ,and furtherly improves the quality of liquid steel and thin slab.The object of long period stable,high effective production has been achieved at Handan’s CSP CC.

Study on Mould Flux in Slab Casting of 304 Austenitic Stainless Steel
The mould flux of TD601 in slab casting of 304 austenitic stainless steel was studied in this text, based on researching the characteristic of solidification of 304 austenitic stainless steel. The mould flux of TD601 has better capability of absorbing impurity and has better stabilization and adaptability. The capability of TD601 mould flux can adapt the technology need of continuous casting. Through testing in the slab continuous casting machine, the grinding ration of slab is reduced and quality of slab is improved.

Research and Application of the round billet outer contour Detection System
In the process of round billet continuous casting, we always measure the round billet outer contour using manpower method. Because the circumstance of manpower measure method is very bad and the result error is big, in the paper, we bring forward a new round billet outer contour detection system. We use machine vision and image processing technique to analyse the roundness of the round billet outer contour, provide the result to the operators in real time to help them to adjust the produce technology parameters and improve the quality.

Cause analysis and measures of unqualified detection for Angang plate
Sampling from the unqualified detection plate, through macro examination, metallographic analysis, cutting test and hydrogen content measurement, main causes for unqualified detection were attained: higher hydrogen content,MnS inclusion in steel, serious slab loosen segregation and faster cooling speed after rolling etc.Pre-desulphurization for hot metal, Ca treatment for MnS inclusion control in steel,vacuum degassing in VD furnace, caster roll and soft reduction parameter adjustment,slab and steel plate pilling up for slow cooling .etc. were adapted, the qualified detection rate of heavy plate increased by 12%.
