Numerical Simulation on Solidification Microstructure of Bloom During Continuously Casting Process
The solidification microstructure plays an important role in controlling bloom quality during continuous casting. A numerical model was established to study the effect of CA model parameters and casting conditions on final solidification microstructure based on the production of heavy rail steel U71Mn. It can be concluded that the mean nucleation undercooling and maximum nucleation density affects the columnar crystal zone and crystal size, respectively. When the casting speed fluctuation is lower than 0.5m/min, the final solidification microstructure is less changed. Nevertheless, the casting temperature greatly affects the solidification microstructure. When the temperature increases from 15℃ to 45℃, the mean grain diameter increases from 1.555mm to 1.721mm, meanwhile the equiaxed grain ratio gradually decreases. Therefore, at the casting temperature meeting the requirement of normal production, the bloom quality will be improved as the casting temperature is properly decreased.

Technology Research of Continuous Casting Using Revolver Cooling System for Thick Slab Caster
In order to resolve the high incident rate of cross crack in slab produced by steel plant thick slab caster, continuous casting process using the revolver cooling system for continuous caster was studied by ABAQUS software. The FEM model of revolver cooling system for continuous casting rollers is established to calculate the temperature field. The result clearly shows that the roller system can meet the continuous casting requirement by using revolver cooling system. Based on the above research, the technology of semi-revolver cooling system is developed for continuous casting which can meet the requirements of the properties of thick slab caster, and also the manufacturing production. From the result, it can be seen that the quality of slab is greatly improved after adopting this technology.

Solidification Heat Transfer Process and Its Heat Loss of Slab Continuous Casting Based on Matlab
Based on numerical calculation with Matlab, solidification heat transfer in slab continuous casting process is carried out, and the temperature field distribution of the slab varying with its thickness and distance to the meniscus of the mould is obtained. The fitting equation of the end position of the slab solidification with respect to the total water flow rate during secondary cooling process, superheat and casting speed is obtained. The effect of the water distribution in the second cooling zone on the heat loss rate per unit length of the mould and second cooling zone as well as the surface temperature gradient of the slab are analyzed. The results show that the change tendencies of the slab temperatures are obviously different at different cooling stages. With the increases in the superheat and casting speed and the decrease in the total water flow rate during secondary cooling process, the end position of the slab solidification increases. The effect of the casting speed on the end position of the slab solidification is more obvious, the effect of the total water flow rate during secondary cooling process is secondary, and the effect of the superheat on the end position of the slab solidification is small. The compromise between the decrement of the surface temperature gradient and the reduction of heat loss rate can be realized by properly adjusting the water distributions in the second cooling zone. The quality and energy storage of the slab are improved simultaneously in this way, and the energy saving of slab continuous casting process is realized. The work in this paper can provide some theoretical guidelines for the parameter designs and dynamic operations of the solidification process of slab continuous casting.

Practical Application of Continuous Straightening Curve Based on Taylor Series Equation
The present continuous casting machines (CCMs) possessing multi-point straightening technique and longer straightening length cannot satisfy the premise term that straightening length must be far shorter than basic arc radius. The Concast straightening curve cannot be used for continuous straightening reconstruction of these CCMs. The Taylor series equations are exerted to calculate continuous straightening curve in item design of the reformative CCM. The puzzles of using Concast equation are avoided and coninuous straightening is achieved.

Effect of Bending and Strainghtening Method on Calculation of Strand Mechanics
In the calculation of strand mechanics, there are many methods of bending and straightening. In continuous bending and straightening, the continuous curvature or the continuous derivative of curvature are different ways, based on which a concept of smooth bending and straightening is created. The effect of different ways on the calculation results are compared. The results show that, roller force in continuous bending and straightening mode is larger than that in the smooth bending straightening mode. Considering the mechanicsl and equipment, the smooth straightening curve if recommended for the design of continuous casting machine external arc curve..

Quality and Monitoring of Mould Oscillation in Continuous Casting Process
The quality and the monitoring of the mould osscollation in the continuous casting process is of increasing importrance with the singnificant progress of caster annual output and improvoment of the billlet quality. However due to deficiency in testing method, no areement on ossicillation evluation has been reached. In veiw of this situation, a monotoring system has been developed to diagnose the quality of ossillation and seveal practical test data have been introduced in this paper. Testing methods for mould ossiciallation in the continuous casting process are discussed for the reference of the producers.

Application of Fixed-Weight Billet Supply in Billet Casting
The technology of fixed-weight billet supply was developed to meet the requirements of bar rolling. These methods include 4 parts, i.e. ignoring influence of technologcial conditions, enhancing maintenance of withdrawal-straightening machine, improving cutting precision of casting blank and designing and making the weighting. The fixed-weight percent is beyond 70% in the standard weight ±5kg via feedback control system, which is the foundation of rolling. It was found in service that, the fluctuation of casting speed is the first factor. When casting speed fluctuation is below 0.05, the change of density for continuous casting strand is little.

Quality Control of the 53Cr21Mn9Ni4N Billet
During the process of continuous casting production of the billet of 53Cr21Mn9Ni4N valve steel, a lot of quality flaws easily appear, such as center unsoundness, center void, segregation, rich columnar crystal and surface depression and so on, For these quality flaws, the surface depression was greatly improved, by adjusting overheat of liquid steel, the strength of cooling, pulling speed, M-EMS currency and F-EMS currency and so on. At the same time, center void and surface depression and so on were reduced significantly.

Simulation of Solidification Microstructure of Continuous Casting Billet Under Electromagnetic Stirring
Simulation of solidification process of continuous cast billet was carried out with a ProCAST software, the solidification structures of continuous casting billet were simulated by CAFE model of ProCAST, and the solidification microstructure of continuous casting billet with or without mold electromagnetic stirring were comparatively simulated. It was found that the columnar zone is remarkably reduced and the ratio of central equiaxed grain increases obviously with electromagnetic stirring. Simulation results were evaluated by comparison between continuous casting billet with and without mold electromagnetic stirring. It was proved that the simulation result was consistent with experiment result.
