The key steelmaking technologies of ER70S-6 welding steel billet were proposed according to its application requirements. The billets with high quality were produced by operational practices such as end point control of BOF, deoxidation and alloying management, control of refining slag and non-defect continuous casting billet production technology.

Optimization of flame descaling process for slab surface defects
Fujian Limited by Share Ltd. steel steel plant steel Minguang slab continuous casting production and slab with abnormal furnace condition was often accompanied with cracks, bubbles and other defects on the surface. At present, flame descaling method is adopted to eliminate slab surface defects. However, the cleanness of steel slag after cleaning was not complete. After cleaning and checking the insufficient covering, scrap was often found on the rolled slab. Exploration and optimization of flame cleaning process on slab surface were conducted. By optimation of handling and cleaning, the ratio of the rolled defects decreased from 0.225% in 2015 to 0.127% in 2016.

Optimization and application of roll gap lubrication in the semi-endless rolling process of CSP line in lianyuan steel
Aims at reducing roll consumption, rolling force,optimizethestrip shape of semi-endless rolling in CSP line of Lianyuan Steel.Analysis time of the roll temperature measurment, stoppage time, air cooling time.Eestablished function of roll thermal crown.Set differentiation control strategy to the lubrication oil in different stand. The efficiency of the oil has proved reducing load from F2-F6 by 8-12%, the wear of roll can be reduced, the crown of strip is lower than 20μm, the surface defect such as pit can be significantly decreased. The roller gap lubrication has noobvious influence on the microstructure of the hot strip, but it can improve the surface quality.

Research and application of light LF refining technology on hot rolled coil
Lianyuan steel developed light LF refining technology for high-grade hot rolled coil relying on KR one-button desulfurization, accurately pre-deoxidation after BOF and automatic bottom-blowing at argon station. The stopper rod rising problem was resolved by adding aluminum one time at LF, controlling [O] content in liquid steel before adding aluminum between 40×10-6 and 100×10-6, soft blowing sustaining 8 mins after adding aluminum. The T.Fe content in top slag in ladle at LF beginning could be controlled below 3% by top slag modified and accurately pre-deoxidation during tapping. This work ensures that the steel purity did not getting worse through light LF refining process. The sulfur content of liquid steel in tundish through light LF refining was less than that through traditional LF refining process. The sulfur content was 0.003 5% and 0.004 6%. Through this technology, not only the cost was reduced significantly but also the oxygen and nitrogen content was 10×10-6 lower, inclusion was less and fatigue property was better than those of traditional process.

Mechanism and practice of change of refractory material property by Ti in the casting process
Theoretical analysis and field experiments of the effect of welding steel containing titanium on change of refractory material property in the continuous casting process were carried out. The results show that the nozzles(short for long nozzle and submerged nozzle) are easy to corrode by chemical reaction with titanium in molten steel. The service time of nozzle is increased to 4 hours by optimizing its physicochemical index. The property of mold flux is changed by chemical reaction with titanium, which causes the deterioration of using performance. The application effect of mold flux is improved by optimizing its components.

Effect of continuous casting process on water ripple defect of martensitic stainless steel cutlery
The water ripple defect appeared in the production of 3Cr13 martensitic stainless steel continuous casting billet was analyzed, and the segregation in defect was serious. At the same time, the corresponding analysis of the macrostructure of continuous cast slab was carried out, which showed that the white strip of continuous cast slab lead to the "water ripple" defect of the cutlery. By optimizing the tundish temperature and electromagnetic stirring process parameters, the degree of "white band" defect of continuous casting billet is reduced, and the water ripple defect of cutlery is eliminated.

Cause of surface peeling defects in 10B21 cold heading steel wire
The surface peeling defects of 10B21 boron-bearing cold heading steel wire were studied. The optical microscope and SEM were used to examine the morphology, structure, and composition of the cross-section ofdefects, and the gas content of the finished wire was examined by a nitrogen oxide analyzer. The formation mechanism of the defect is analyzed, it is considered that the defect is a wrinkle formed during the rolling of the corner cross crack on the continuous casting billet. By adjusting the charging structure of 10B21 boron-containing cold heading steel and strengthening the control of the production process,then controlling the nitrogen content in the steel, and the occurrence of warpage defects on the wire surface can be effectively avoided.

Analysis on microstructure and inclusions of slab surface layer in 304L stainless steel
The morphology, composition, content of residual ferrite and inclusions in 304L slab surface layer was studied by chemical etching, metallographic test, SEM and EPMA method. The phase transformation of 304L at 1 000-1 600 ℃ was analyzed by JMatPro software. The results show that the solidification mode of 304L stainless steels is Mode FA; the morphology of residual ferrite enriched in Cr and depleted in Ni is skeletal, dot and stick; the average content of residual ferrite is 8.57%; the spherical CaO-SiO2-Al2O3-MgO inclusions are the main inclusion in the surface layer of 304L austenitic stainless steel slab.

Study on decrease of recarburization of ultra-low-carbon steel with ultra low carbon slag
The ultra-low-carbon steel may cause recarburization during continues casting process, because of the reaction between liquid steel and mold slag. The paper describes the effect of the mold slag and level fluctuation on the recarburization. As a result, the mold slag is the key factor in the steel recarburization, especially when the mold level fluctuates greatly. Therefore, some measures were taken to decrease the recarburization degree as follows. The molten slag layer was thicken by an increase in viscosity of the mold slag and a decrease in carbon content. The mold level fluctuates extent was tinier by keeping the casting speed steadier and liquid steel cleaner. As a result, the liquid steel recarburization of mold slag A was decreased from 4.0 ×10-6 to 0.8 ×10-6, and the liquid steel recarburization of mold slag B was decreased from 2.4 ×10-6 to 1.1×10-6, which improved the finished product rate and also met the customer’s demands better.

Effect of electromagnetic stirring on the solidification structure of Q345D
Taking the Q345D steel produced in Minmetals YingKou Medium Plate Co., Ltd., as the research object, the effect of strand electromagnetic stirring (SEMS) on solidification structure of Q345D billets was simulated by the numerical simulation software ProCAST using the cellular automation-finite element (CAFE) model. Simulation results were evaluated by comparison between continuous casting billet with and with out strand electromagnetic stirring (SEMS). It was proved that the simulation results were consistent with experiment results. The results indicate that increasing the electromagnetic stirring intensity can significantly increase the isometric crystal rate, and decrease the average grain size. When the electromagnetic stirring intensity increases from 0 A to 400 A at 6 Hz, the ratio of equiaxed grains increases significantly from 19.99% to 41.39%, the average grain radius decreases from 1.73×10-3 m to 1.68×10-3 m and the average grain size decreases from 8.21×10-6m2 to 6.99×10-6m2. The quality of continuous casting billet has been improved significantly under the effect of electromagnetic stirring.

Practice of 160 mm×160 mm billet caster modification
It appeared many problems in a 160 mm×160 mm billet caster during production of varieties of steel, such as many inclusions, poorer internal quality, and surface quality defects. By applying the continuous straightening technique, the new three-dimensional dynamic water distribution model, casting technology intelligent management system, optimization of tundish flow field, the defects of billet quality is reduced sharply and the quality of the product are improved significantly.
