Abstract:Tungstenrhenium (WRe) alloys have the characteristics of high melting point, high strength, high hardness, and high recrystallization temperature. As a kind of structural material, it has been widely used in special high temperature fields. In the process of studying the hightemperature hot deformation behavior of new WRe alloy materials with Gleeble thermal mechanical simulation system, there are some problems such as the difficulty in thermocouple welding, and the higher strength of WRe alloy than the tungsten carbide indenter. These problems were solved by the means of embedding wire and hightemperature resistant inorganic adhesive to fix thermocouple, and by employing power hot pressing sintering process to prepare ZrCp/W composite material as hightemperature highstrength indenter. The compression true stresstrue strain curve of WRe alloy at 1 500 ℃ and strain rate 1s-1 was obtained. The proposed method was applicable for the measurement of true strength of WRe alloy at high temperature, and provided accurate data for the determination of thermal deformation process parameters in the industrial production.
