A Proposal to Establish a Platform for Manufacturing High-efficiency and Low-cost Clean Steel
according to the definition of clean steel, a great significance in establishing a clean steel manufacturing platform is clarified. The technical index of new production process of clean based on hot metal pretreatment is analyzed and compared with that of traditional process of taking secondary refining as main body. In traditional process, there are four basic contradictions such as resulfurization, dephosphorization in melting low carbon steel, deoxidization and inclusion control, and strong reducing refining, which have an influence on production cost and energy consumption. To solve there problems, a platform for manufacturing high-efficiency and low-cost clean steel should be established. The platform must focus on full hot metal pretreatment, less-slag smelting, high-carbon taping, vacuum carbon deoxidization and change of inclusion floating, and so on.

Mathematical model of burden width in a bell-less top blast furnace and modeling experimental research
Opinion’s concerning the uncoordinated principle between the burden width and burden trajectory width in process of iron-making, and it is fluctuated to the flows distribution of CO after charge of bell-less top to the instable status of blast furnace. In the mathematical model of burden width, it is emphasized the force to width of burden trajectory from a kinematic view point. Analyzing effect of Coriolis force to calculate burden width and a deviate angle of maximum burden velocity, reducing error rate of horizontal width, raising segment calculate the width of burden trajectory. The mathematical model is established. To adopt industrial model experimental on the ratio of 1:10 blast furnace, it is Validated to the numerical model of burden width is right and ration. After applied mathematical model in a 2500 cubic meter blast furnace, it is validated to burden file ration, flows stabilizing, and blast furnace smoothly working.

Deoxidation Kinetics of 1mm ~3 mm Ore Fines with H2
Experiment was conducted in a self-prepared kg-scale high temperature fluidized bed for kinetics of 1 mm~3mm ore fine reduction with hydrogen. The utilization degree of gas decreases with reaction, which shows that the reaction is rapid during the beginning of deoxidation process, while slower with time. The higher the reaction temperature, the more the utilization degree of gas, but the difference of utilization degree at various temperatures shortens with time. The utilization degree of gas is 9%, and the metallization degree reaches 84% for 20min deoxidation process at 750℃,which shows the deoxidation reaction with hydrogen is very rapid. The almost linear increases of metallization degree with gas velocity, which shows the deoxidation reaction with hydrogen is very rapid further. So, much higher velocity of reducing gas can be allowed to improve the productivity of facility when hydrogen as reducing gas compares to CO gas. Metallization degree decrease s while utilization degree of gas increases gradually with the height of charge increasing. The reaction temperature can drop to 700~750℃ with hydrogen as reducing gas, which can avoid the sticking problems of fluidized bed.

Effect of Different Bottom Blowing Locations on Decarburization Process in Vacuum Degasser
The numerical simulation method was employed to study the effect of different bottom blowing locations on fluid flow and decarburization process in vacuum degasser. The numerical results indicated that the double bottom blowing is the most effective method for decarbonization, the eccentric bottom blowing has a minor effect, and the centric bottom blowing is the poorest method. For the eccentric bottom blowing, the decarbonization efficiency is the highest and the terminal carbon concentration falls down to 39ppm when the eccentric distance of bottom blowing location is between 0.4R~0.5R. For double bottom blowing, the decarbonization efficiency is the highest and the terminal carbon concentration falls down to 25ppm when the eccentric distance of bottom blowing location is between 0.5R~0.65R. Furthermore, the terminal carbon concentration on the condition of double bottom blowing is 18~45 percent lower than that on the condition of eccentric bottom blowing.

Effect of Bottom Structure of Submerged Entry Nozzle on Flow Filed and Temperature Field in Continuous Casting Mold
Based on the structure parameters of one steel plant mold and submerged entry nozzle (SEN) for slab continuous casting, 3-D numerical model which describes the flow and heat transfer of liquid steel in mold has been carried out. Commercial software FLUENT was used to simulate coupling flow field and temperature field of the molten steel, the effects of bottom structure of SEN on the flow field and temperature field of molten steel were analyzed and compared. These research results indicated that: near the outlet of convex SEN , the molten steel velocity is relative high and the impact depth is deep, which enable high temperature region to shift down and go against the growth of solidified shell; the free surface velocity and temperature of flat bottom SEN is relative high, which is beneficial for mold flux melting but can lead to the opening of slag layer; the free surface velocity and temperature of concave SEN velocity is relative low, which is beneficial for the liquid level stabilizing. These research results can be used for the design of SEN as reference.

Study of Surface Blow hole Defects of Continuous Casting Slab
In this paper, the influencing factor of the blow hole defect in continuous casting slab and hot rolled plate was analyzed. The main reason of surface blow hole defect in continuous casting slab is that the argon gas insufflate the mold from the upper nozzle, argon sealing and submerged entry nozzle cannot float effectively. The argon blow hole was captured by solidified continuous casting slab shell and induced the surface blow hole defect in continuous casting slab. The blow hole mostly distributed to the wide-face shell edge near the narrow side position. The blow hole quantity in the center of wide-face and the 1/4 of wide-face shell is few. The surface blow hole defect in continuous casting slab and hot rolled plate can be eliminated by utilizing no argon blowing.

Microstructure Evolution and Second Phase Analysis of Cold rolled Thin Steel Strip Produced by CSP Process
The microstructure evolution of cold rolled thin steel strip produced by CSP process was studied by metallographic microscope and QUANTA-400 environmental scanning electronic microscope. At the meantime time, the chemical composition, quantity and partlcle size distribution of cold rolled thin steel strip produced by CSP proeess were studied by chemiea phase analysis and SAXS method with a 3014 X-ray diffracto-spectrometer and a Kratky small ang1e scattering goniometer. The results show that the quantity of duplex impurity in CSP thin slab is minute. The size of crystal grain of the steel strip side along the width direction during continuous casting and continuous rolling, cold rolling and annealing is finer than that of the steel strip center and the phenomenon is more obvious duing continuous casting and continuous rolling than during other processes. The cleanliness of CSP hot rolled strip for cold rolling is high. The precipitated phases in cold rolled and annealed thin steel strip are nano-scaled M3C and nano-scaled MC.The amount of nano-scaled M3C in cold rolled thin steel strip after annealing is about 26 time more than that of nano-scaled MC in cold rolled thin steel strip after annealing.

Role of Shock Wave in Steelmaking of Converter
Shock wave is the non-consecutive boundary layer of liquid property in supersonic flow. Airflow pass through the shock wave speed decreased, temperature and pressure rise. Oxygen is blown into converter through ultrasonic jet by Laval nozzle. Loss of shock wave should be decreased when design oxygen lance nozzle and oxygen blowing system. In order to obtain good metallurgical effect, shock wave should be controlled at suitable range at some special blowing process. Nozzle should not be applied if property of nozzle jet deteriorated when it eroded seriously.
