Study and Innovation of the Key Technologies on Modern Large Blast Furnace
The key technologies at modern large blast furnace are bellless top, high blast temperature and dry big filter dedusting of BF gas. Bellless top equipment of large blast furnace designed and developed by our own has reached advanced level in the world in terms of equipment reliability and service life by 3D design optimum, simulation analysis and pilot trail; fullydry impulse bag filter dedusting technology of BF gas, which is also developed by our own, has gained technical breakthroughs in terms of optimized system design, gas temperature control, pneumatic conveying of dedusting fines; the integrated innovative highefficiency longlife hightemperature hot blast stove technology, through applying hightemperature preheating technology of combustion air, improving heat transfer efficiency of hot blast stove and optimizing structure of the hot blast stove system, enables the blast temperature to reach 1250 ℃ with BF gas as fuel.

Influence of Adding Modified Coal Tar Pitch on the Mixed Coals Cokeability in the Coking Process
The cokeability of adding modified coal tar pitch to four kinds of mixed coals, such as the ash content Ad, the volatiles Vdaf, the sulfur content St,d, the shrinkage index X, and the coal caking index G was studied. The results show that the ash content of the four kinds of mixed coals decrease slowly, and then increase, when modified coal tar pitch content is less than 6%. The volatiles of the four kinds of mixed coals increase with modified coal tar pitch content, and reach to the highest level when modified coal tar pitch content is 5%. The sulfur content differ from different kinds of coals. The 4th match doesn’t change when modified coal tar pitch content increases. The other three kinds of mixed coals don’t have a rapidly increase until modified coal tar pitch content is 5%. The plastometer thickness Y of the mixed coals will increase with higher content of modified coal tar pitch. The shrinkage index X will reduce with higher content of modified coal tar pitch. The coal caking index G of the 3rd match won’t change when modified coal tar pitch content increase, but the other three kinds of mixed coals reach to the highest level with modified coal tar pitch content reach to 5%6%.

Study on Variation of Temperature and Composition of SelfReforming of Coke Oven Gas
The technology of selfreforming of coke oven gas was studied by thermodynamics calculation of CH4H2COH2OCO2O2 system. The results show that higher temperature, lower pressure and higher CH4 content are advantage for the selfreforming of COG. With the reforming conditions of 850900 ℃, 0.3 MPa and 14% oxygen, the H2 content of equilibrium system can be enhanced from 60% to 71.5% and 8% to 23.1% for CO. H2+CO/ H2O+CO2+H2+CO of equilibrium system is 97.2% and the addition of equilibrium quantity of reducing gas is 33%.

Effect of Magnesia on Formation of Calcium Ferrites Under the QuasiChemical Equilibrium
The chemical composition of high basicity sinter was simulated to investigate the effects of magnesia content on calcium ferrite formation in Fe2O3SiO2CaOAl2O3MgO system in air atmosphere at 1220 ℃ by determining the amount of calcium ferrite formation from XRDQAMS method, by observing the microstructure from optical microscopy, and so on. The experimental results show that the amount of calcium ferrite formation for samples with R=2.0 and noalumina increases markedly with increase of magnesia content, however the amount of calcium ferrite formation for samples at 2.5% alumina and R=2.0 increases smaller with increase of magnesia content, which is considered that effect of magnesia on calcium ferrite formation was changed after adding alumina into the samples. Secondly, with increase of basicity from 1.8 to 2.3 ,the amount of calcium ferrite formation in samples increase, but the effect of magnesia on calcium ferrite formation become smaller. The columnar type transfers to acicular type for the shape of calcium ferrite with increase of magnesia content before addition of alumina, however the effect of magnesia content become smaller after added 2.5% alumina.

Application of Hard Coal in Coal Blend for CokeMaking
The coking test of blending hard coal was carried out in 2 kg cokingoven.The influence of coal modifying additive (zzz) on blend coal and coke quality was studied.The optimal size and quatity of hard coal and zzz have been chosen.The experimental results show that the optimal proposal of coal blending is of that hard coal added up to 8%(its size under 3 mm) and zzz added to 0.10%.The value of M40、M10 and CRI、CSR of coke from the optimal proposal can be up to the level of coke produced in Nanjing Iron and Steel (group) Co.,Ltd.This test also gains a good result on 40 kg testoven.

Optimization of Continuous Bending and Straightening Curve of VerticalArc Slab Caster
By developing a new ideal continuous bending and straightening curve, the design of a roller curve was optimized to complete bending and straightening part revamping of R9300 mm slab caster in Angang second steel making plant with same pass line and outside arc benchmark line. At the same time, with such roller curve in high temperature region, the strain rate is reasonably higher than that in low temperature region for making use of creep and stress relaxation of steel. This curve is suitable for new caster.

Experimental Research on Round Steel Billet Electromagnetic SoftContact Continuous Casting Process
Based on the numerical simulation, a round softcontact mold with diameter 100 mm was designed. Using molten PbSnBi lowmelting alloy, the meniscus behavior in the round billet continuous caster with high frequency magnetic field was investigated. The effects of some parameters, such as frequency, electric power and metal level, on the meniscus deformation were discussed. The 0.22%(wt) C carbon steel was successfully casted in the pilot continuous casting machine. The results show that on the azimuthal direction the magnetic flux density distribution and meniscus deformation are relatively homogeneous when the slit number is 12. With power increasing, meniscus height increases, but the meniscus fluctuation is more intensified, the power should be controlled in an appropriate range. The reasonable power is about 5060 kW. In practice, the metal level should be controlled between the center and the top of coil. The lower the frequency, the higher the meniscus height, and the optimal frequency is about 20 kHz. The 100 mm 0.22%C carbon steel with smooth surface is obtained by applying alternative magnetic. It shows that the oscillation mark of billet surface have three different statuses, annular oscillation, smooth surface and ripple oscillation respectively.

Application of New Ladle Slag Modifier to Refining Q345C
A ladle slag modifier made from aluminum slag of making aluminum ingot or from leftover of electrolyzing Al2O3 was developed. It was applied to produce Q345C containing aluminum steel at Jinan iron and steel company. The results show that the modifier can increase the yield ratio of aluminum as well as get stable aluminum content. It can also increase desulphurizing efficiency, but not increasing the rephosphoration content while decreasing phosphorus content somewhat. There is a tendency of resilication in a permissible scope and reducing the total Fe content in slag when using the modifier. So the optimal adding content of the modifier is 80 kg/ladle according to the test.

Improvement of Mill Type and Development of Flatness Control Capability of 1420 mm Tandem Cold Mill
1420 mm tandem cold mill in Baosteel was used as the study platform. CVC mill type has been widely used in strip production at home and abroad . Two special problems exist in CVC flatness control technology , one is uneven axial distribution of surface wear of backup roll , the other is insufficient capability for strip edge flatness control. Method and technology of roll profile was designed for back up roll in CVC tandem cold mill, edge drop control was developed for DI tinplate which demanded good quality of edge drop, mill type of this CVC tandem cold mill was improved to some extent, and flatness control capability was increased obviously. After the modification, stripe flatness is improved, variety and yield of product are developed, productivity is increased.

Study on Continuous Rolling Force Model for HBeam
The stressstrain of Q235 in high temperature was obtained though thermomechanical test, and experiential deformresistance model was modified with aid of data from the test, multilinear regression analysis was adopted to establish model of Hbeam rolling force. The finishingcontinuousrolling force of Hbeam was analyzed. Compared with measured values, the predicted ones show relative error of less than 5% which is sufficient to satisfy the needs of the Engineering design, and it also gives a reference in a practical planning.

Deformation Analysis of Square Billet and Round Billet Rolled in DiamondSquare Passes
To meet the demands of producing round and square billet for billet continuous mill and raise the usage of oval and round passes, a new method, “ovalrounddiamondsquare” passes, is utilized to roll square billets. FEM and industrial rolling test are used to study the deformation behavior of square billet and round billet in diamond and square passes. The deformation for different rolling processes is compared. The results show that the deformation for diamond pass roll round billet is more uniform, the dimensional precision of head and tail of workpiece is higher, and the wear of diamond pass is more uniform. The results are helpful to rationally developing rolling procedure for intermediate round pass to roll square billet.

Effect of the Composition and Process on Microstructure and Properties of X80 Pipeline Hot Strip Steel
Based on MnMoNb system with three different content, the effect of finishing rolling parameters and rolling temperature as well as the content of C and Mo on yield strength and DWTT shear area values of X80 hot strip pipeline steel were investigated. The results are of practical significance to improvement yield strength and to refinement austenite grain size along with to restraint recrystallization during finish rolling. By adjusting the chemical composition and optimizing the process parameters, excellent toughness and high strength can be obtained.

Effect of Different Volume Fraction of Martensite on Deformation Behavior of Dual Phase Steels
Deformation behaviors of different volume fraction of martensite are investigated by using CrussardJaoul (CJ)analysis and nvalue. The CJ curve is drawn by using serial data to avoid the discontinuousness in fitting; nvalue divided analysis gives a visual nvalue under different strain on the base of differential theory. Combination of the two fitting methods, only the low volume fraction of martensite dualphase steel has duplex yield character, and the knee point of work hardening in stage Ⅱonly appears when a certain volume fraction of martensite produces plastic deformation. Furthermore, at low strain the work hardening rate (dS/de) will increase with increasing volume fraction of martensite, while the nvalue will reach a maximum at low volume fraction of martensite.

Study of Grain Refinement and Precipitation in VN Steels Produced by CSP Process
Using VN microalloying technology, strips whose yield strength is 600 MPa grade is produced by compact strip production (CSP) line. Scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscope were used to study the microstructure and precipitation in VN steels. The ferrite grain size is about three microns. Tow types of V(C,N) particles with several tens nanometers or several nanometers are found. The main strengthening method is grain refinement, and V(C,N) particles play an important role of precipitation hardening. Base on the experimental results, the main reason for ultrafine microstructure was discussed.

Effect of Annealing of HotRolled Band on the Formability of 00Cr17Ti ColdRolled and Annealed Sheet
Comparative experiments with or without annealing of 00Cr17Ti hotrolled band were carried out. The effect of annealing of hotrolled band on the formability of 00Cr17Ti coldrolled and annealed sheet was investigated by analyzing microstructure, texture, value and ΔRvalue. The results show that the value of coldrolled and annealed sheet with annealing of hotrolled band is about 0.2 higher than that without annealing, however, the ΔRvalue is increased about 0.7. The differences are attributed to microstructure and texture of the two final sheets. The sheet with annealing of hotrolled band has much larger grain,more homogenous microstructure and much stronger {111} recrystallization texture than that without annealing, which lead to the increase of value, but the more nonuniform intensity distributions along γfiber results in a great increase of ΔRvalue.

Analysis on Quality of Advanced Wire Rod for Steel Cord
By inspecting the quality of advanced hotrolled wire rod for steel cord, its production quality standard and product process rules are established. Samples which come from the best plants are inspected. The results show that advanced hotrolled wire rod for steel cord has some general characters, for instance, steel is clean and its chemical composition range is strict. Mechanical property is homogeneous and reduction rate of area is high. Microstructure is even and its sorbite rate is more than 80 percent, average layers space between cementite and ferrite is about 0.2 μm.Volume fraction of preeutectoid ferrite is less than 1 percent. Only A and D type inclusions are observed. All D type inclusions are plastic, its grade is less than 0.5 and the size of which isn’t larger than 5 μm. Dimension precision is high. There is no central segregation or decarburization and defects on the surface.

Effect of Deformation Temperature and Cooling Rate on Grain Size Refining of MediumCarbon NbBearing Steel
By using Gleeble1500 machine, the effect of different deformation temperature and cooling rate on grain refinement of austenite grains after reheat quenching and the mechanism of grain refinement were studied. The results show that austenite grains size are all less than 10 μm by hot deform followed by direct quenching, and then reheat quenching, austenite grains refining with decreasing deformation temperature as a result of prior austenite grains become from equiaxed grains to pancake grains; The finer austenite grain can be obtained by hot deform followed by direct quenching and then reheat quenching, compared with hot deform followed by slow cooling at 5 ℃/s and then reheat quenching.

Simulation Experimental Research of Granulation Process for Iron Slag
Liquid paraffin instead of molten slag was broken by rotary cup for simulating blast furnace slag granulation process . The influences of rotating speed and mass flowrate on granule diameter and its mass distribution were investigated. The results show that granule diameter is inverse proportion to speed of rotary cup and direct proportion to mass flowrate of paraffin. The shape of granule is stick at high rotating speed. Paraffin mass flowrate has no influence on the shape of granule. The granule mass distribution will be more uniform when increasing rotating speed or mass flowrate.

Numerical Simulation on LowOxygen Combustion Through Pressure Swing Suction
The air channels of the burner is designed as constrictionzoom structure which can suction exhausted gas by pressure swing, as a result, lowoxygen combustion is achieved and structure of normal burner is optimized. By using Fluent, numerical simulation of this optimization is calculated. The results show that optimized burner can enlarge the volume of the flame. Mean temperature of furnace rises while the number of partial high temperature zones decreases. Nitrogen oxides fall sharply, which reduces pollutant emissions apparently.

Study on Continuous Annealing Simulator of Cold Rolled Strip and Development of Control System
A continuous annealing simulator of cold rolled strip has been developed successfully. SIEMENS SIMATIC S7 is used as the basic automation control system and designed with software Step7. The continuous annealing simulator with high accuracy signals measurement and high precision temperature control is no lower than foreign similar equipments on the precision of measurement and control. Annealing production of specimen with tension and different protective atmosphere can be simulated by it. The functions, equipment structure, development of control system and main performance indexes of continuous annealing simulator are introduced.

Damages of Detrimental Elements to Blast Furnaces of PZH Steel
The behavior and distribution in products and byproducts of detrimental elements, such as zinc and alkali metals in blast furnaces were studied. The compositions of accretions in blast furnaces were analyzed. The results show that detrimental elements is bad to blast furnaces. The damages of zinc to blast furnaces were found. With the changes in the structure of burden, the effects of alkali metals on blast furnaces, which had not adverse impacts on blast furnaces until now, could not be ignored, and the corresponding measures were put forward.
