Study of Dynamic Secondary Cooling With Target Temperature Method
Based on the analysis of solidification heat transfer process, the solidification heat transfer model was evaluated for continuous casting products. Target surface temperature was determined by means of process conditions. The control model of secondary cooling water distribution was developed based on target surface temperature. Relationship of water and temperature field was obtained under different process conditions, such as steel, casting speed and so on. The slab surface target temperature and simulated temperature are ensured to be same through solidification model and the secondary cooling water control model; and the stability of the slab temperature field was also ensured by timely adjusting the amount of secondary cooling water.

Effects of Thermal Boundary Conditions on Numerical Simulation of Molten Steel in Tundish
Based on the structure and operation parameters of a T-type tundish, a 3-D mathematical model has been developed to study the flow field and heat transfer of molten steel in the T-type tundish by the software FLUENT. Aiming at the problems existing in the thermal boundary condition for the numerical simulation of molten steel in the tundish, a mathematic model of tundish liner to study the heat transfer in the T-type tundish liner was introduced. The relationship between the heat flux and the temperature of inside-wall in the liner is used as the thermal boundary condition to simulate the flow field and heat transfer of molten steel in the T-type tundish by the software FLUENT. Simulation results show that the thermal boundary condition according to the mathematic model of tundish liner can obtain a result of flow field and heat transfer of the molten steel in the T-type tundish more conform to the reality than using the commonly thermal boundary conditions.

Roll-Gap Deviations Analysis and Controlling in Soft Reduction Processing of Continuous Casting
The rolls gap shifting and rolls gap deviation phenomena were found in a slab continuous caster as the dynamic soft reduction system was put into the service. Spot testing and mechanism analyses were organized to find out the reason. It was found that the temperature change induced the rolls gap shifting and elastic deformation of segment, then the rolls gap deviation was caused, and corresponding measures were taken accordingly.

Analysis and Countermeasures of Secondary Cooling Nozzle Clogging
With the consideration of secondary cooling water treatment process and the features of secondary cooling facilities, the composition, morphology of spray nozzle clogging, secondary cooling water quality, the structure of spray nozzle and main steps during continuous casting are analyzed to find out the reasons of the secondary cooling spray nozzle clogging. The secondary cooling water quality and the maintenance quality of major equipment are the two key factors causing the clogging of spray nozzle. Owing to some corresponding measures, the number of clogged spray nozzles has decreased markedly.

Design Development and Application of Anti-Distortion Device on Multi-Strand Tundish
By analyzing the mechanism of the down deflection causes on multi-strand tundish in the production of continuous casting, and by means of theoretical analysis, site survey and technical communication, a new kind of structure device was developed on the tundish. Then the problem of down deflection on tundish can be resolved;the requirement of multi-furnace continuous casting can be fulfilled; the use-cost of refractory of tundish can be greatly reduced; and the considerable economic value for the corporation has been created.

Test and Analysis of Inclusions in SPHE Continuous Casting Slab
Inclusions in SPHE continuous casting slab were tested and analyzed by dendrite corrosion, cold acid etching, hot acid etching, OM(optical microscope), SEM(scanning electron microscope), EDS(energy dispersive spectrometer) and so on. The inclusions aggregation zone was found in 1/4 of inner arc in thickness of continuous casting slab, the composition of inclusions was main Al2O3, whose size was small. Some measures of reducing inclusions defect in continuous casting slab were proposed.

Effect of Fag End Electromagnetic Stirring on Inside Quality in Con-Casting Billet of Bearing Steel
The effect of fag end electromagnetic (F-EMS) on center equiaxial crystal zone proportion, carbon, phosphorus, and sulphur segregation, porosity and sink of con-casting billet (180 mm×220 mm) in different technology parameters has been tested and analyzed. The results showed that the average center equiaxial crystal zone proportion in con-casting billet with F-EMS increasedfrom 42% to 69% in the billet without F-EMS when the F-EMS parameter was set on 12Hz/350A. The grade of center porosity, sink and center segregation was decreased to 1.0, 0 and 0 from 3.0, 1.5 and 1.5 without F-EMS, the extreme content of carbon, phosphorus and sulphur was decreased to 0.016%, 0.001% and 0.001% from 0.042%, 0.003% and 0.002% without F-EMS when the F-EMS parameter was set on 10 Hz/300A.

Quality Control of Caster on Billet Quality of Martensitic Anti-Heat Stainless Steel-1Cr6Si2Mo
During the process of caster production, a lot of quality flaws occurred on the billet of martensitic anti-heat stainless steel-1Cr6Si2Mo, such as center unsoundness, center void, segregation, rich columnar crystal and surface depression and so on. In view of these quality flaws, some measures were taken such as adjusting the overheat of liquid steel, choosing proper cooling speed, reducing the speed and upgrading M-EMS currency, so that the billet surface flaws can be increased efficiently and center porosity, void and segregation can be decreased.
