Current Status and Several Problems of Roller Industry in China
The rapid development of steel industry as well as rolling technologies in China leads to a continuous advancement in processing technologies and equipments of roller industry. The current status of domestic roller industry is introduced, and for the development of roller industry, it is suggested that the special attentions should be paid to the information and fundamental study, the control of roller manufacturing,and key points of processing, the study on application of rollers, the improvement in production efficiency, and safety production.

Study of Thermal Properties of Coke
By group analysis and manmachine interaction of data injection of 2 dimensional plan of control parameters, reasonable and valid control parameters were found: Ash content,from 9.1 to 9.4, volatile greater than 27.5,coke fines content greater than 75.9 and strong caking coal ratio more than 50. Practices showed that presented method is simple and effective for coking plants with few valid production data groups,poor data reliability and poor production management.

Research of Abrasion Resistance Technique for Distribution Chute of BF
In order to increase abrasion resistance and hightemperature resistance of blast furnace(BF) distribution chute, the design and suitable materials were discussed. Based on the requirements of heat resistance, abrasion resistance and stress elimination, the principles and methods of designing long service life chute were studied. An abrasion resistant distribution chute besed on a combined design of milling materiels by themselves and overlapping wearable plates was developed.Practice showed that, the service life of this distribution chute is two times longer than that of original chute.

Experimental Study of Coke Descent in CDQ Cooling Chamber
Experimental Study of Coke Descent in CDQ Cooling Chamber
The coke descent in the cold model of CDQ cooling chamber was studied by means of tracing method with digital camera. For three different blastcups, the law of coke descent was studied under five conditions of coke charging. The results showed that,elliptical blastcup cross is better than low or high located circular blastcups;coke charge pattern with flat top surface is preferable to that with peakvalley surface, and doublepeak pattern is superior to onepeak one for uniform distribution of coke. Trajectory and average velocity distribution of descending coke are almost independent of whether coke is discharged continuously or not. The blastcups have local effects on the coke descent and have little effects on whether the cokes flow smoothly or not in case that coke bed has enough height.

Study of Controlling Nitrogen Content of NBearing Stainless Steel During AOD Process
The solution of nitrogen in molten stainless steel was studied thermodynamically and kinetically. The results showed that the solubility of nitrogen is increased with decreasing temperature and increasing Cr, Mn, Mo content. The theory and practice of nitrogen alloying model by blowing nitrogen into AOD were studied, and it was indicated that nitrogen content is changed with the changing of carbon content and temperature of molten,oxygen and argon gas flowing rate. The process is suitable to produce Nbearing stainless steel which nitrogen content value below 90% and to assure the accuracy of nitrogen content control, the nitrogen content should be below 80% of solubility under normal pressure.

Effect of EMBr on Inclusion Behavior in CSP Mold
The effect of EMBr on inclusion behavior was investigated by means of numerical simulation and then testified on site at Lianyuan Steel.The simulation showed that without EMBr, the floatingup probability was nearly zero for the inclusions less than 50 μm, and 6% for the inclusions larger than 200 μm. With EMBr, the floatingup probability was 25% for the inclusions less than 50 μm, and 38% for the inclusions larger than 200 μm. The industrial test showed that the amount of large inclusions in range of 200300 μm, 300400 μm and larger than 400 μm were reduced by 15.9%, 30.2% and 39.4% respectively. Thus the results of numerical simulation were in agreement with that of industrial test to a certain extent.

Development and Application of Slag Forming Agent for Steelmaking With SemiSteel
During semisteel smelting process, less silicon,manganese are oxidized making.Slag formation difficult.A study was carried out to find suitable technology,which can reduce slag amount,give a new slag system of high metallurgical effect.Thus three slag forming.They set down three agents were tested.The results showed,that all three agents are satisfactory in terms of slag formation time,operation of blowing,consumption of slag forming agents dephosphorization.In this way, the metallurgical effect of slag can be increased by adding such agents to obtain slag with reasonable basicity,low FeO content.

Theoretical Research of Applying Mg to Ultra Clean Steel Production
Theoretical research of applying magnesium’s to ultra clean steel production was carried out. It was shown that deoxidization capacity of Mg is much better than that of Al and Mg can reduce the content of oxygen in steel to much lower level than Al. Experimental results showed that the content of dissolved oxygen in steel can be lower than 1×10-6,at a content of Mg of 10×10-6. For traditional aluminumkilled steel, Ca treatment can be replaced by Mg treatment to decrease the oxygen content in steel further and improve the cleanness of steel. At the same time, MgO formed by Mg deoxidization has a strong capability to enlarge the area of the low melting point oxides in the CaOSiO2Al2O3 ternary phase diagram, making probability of producing liquid nonmetallic inclusions composed of CaO, SiO2 and Al2O3 higher.

Research of Oscillation of Hydraulic Oscillator for Slab Continuous Caster
Mould Oscillation plays an important role in continuous casting. In recent years, the hydraulic oscillation was developed and applied.On a hydraulic oscillator of slab continuous caster,the displacement and other parameters of hydraulic oscillator were measured and the evaluation method of oscillation was studied. The displacement deviation and phase deviation of oscillation with sinusoidal and nonsinusoidal waveforms were analyzed.The results indicated that the hydraulic oscillator is quite a good device in terms of precision.The method proposed may be useful for evaluating oscillators.

Anticorrosive Galvanizing
At present,galvanizing is still the main anticorrosion technology for steel and iron products.The mechanism,technical process and the characteristics of hotdip galvanization,mechanical plating and electroplating with zinc are introduced.In recent years, because environmental protection laws and regulations have been strengthening,the application of technological process of traditional electroplating and hotdip galvanizing has been limited in many countries due to pollution problem.Thus, the surface treatment of steel and iron parts is facing an revolution for low energy consumption, low pollution,high efficiency, high quality and green procese.The mechanical plating is one of the clean surface treatments,which is extended and popularized vigorously, in the world and in China,becoming one of the common hardware surface treatments gradually.

Design of Roll Shape for Temper Mill of Hot Galvanizing Line
The shape and surface quality are important quality index of skinpassed galvanized strip. According to the characteristics of technology of skinpassed galvanized strip, a mathematic model to design the shape of rolls on temper mill was established.In this model, the uniform distribution of front tension is taken as the objective.The model has been used to design the shape of rolls temper mill at Panzhihua Steel. The test results indicated that the new rolls improve the control of work roll bending and the homogeneity of rolling pressure and improve the quality of skinpassed galvanized strip.

Control of Local Protuberance of Cold Rolled Coil by Modifying Hot Rolling Roller Contour
In order to eliminate local protuberance of cold rolled coil caused by defect profile of cold rolled strip,inherited from defect profile of hot rolled strip, a new cosine contour of hot rolling work roller was presented based on the analysis of defect profile of hot rolled strip caused by feline ear type of roller wear to control edge thickness and local high point of hot rolled strip. Simulation and industrial experiment showed that profile of strip is improved; edge thickness deviation and local high point are reduced.

Texture of HotRolled NonOriented Electrical Steel by CSP Process
The texture of hotrolled nonoriented electrical steel (w(Si+Al)=1%)produced by CSP process was investigated and compared with conventional products. It was found that the major texture is{001}<110> , namely, α (<110>∥RD) fibre texture in the center,and the texture distributes nonuniformly in thickness direction and the intensity and symmetry of texture are increased from the surface to the center for both hot rolled electrical steels.

SelfSuperplasticization of Spray Formed UltrahighCarbon Steel
1.25C2.8Si1.5Cr ultrahigh carbon steel (UHCS) with a carbidenetworkfree and fully fine pearlitic microstructure,prepared by spray forming technology, exhibits fairly good superplasticity with elongation up to 380% without any thermal and/or mechanical pretreatment.An elongation of 122% was reached when the strain rate was raised to 2×10-1s-1.It was found that the unique superplasticity is resulted from microstructure evolution during the deformation, from the pearlite to fineequiaxedgrained structure with the lamellar cementite turning into spheroidized particles. High strain rate could facilitate utrafine spheroidized structure. Based on the above result, a method combining sprayforming and hot rolling with highdeformation rate was developed to make UHCS superplastic more effectively. The method was proved to be effective for other highcarbon steels such as highspeed steels.

Microstructure Evolution and Mechanical Hardening of HyperEutectoid Steel During Cold Rolling
Microstructure evolution of hypereutectoid steel duning cold rolling with different reduction rate (from 0 to 81.6%)was studied by SEM and TEM. The results showed that due to orientation multiplicity of pearlitic lamellas the nonuniform deformation of different pearlitic blocks are observed and with the increase of reduction rate the microstructure undergoes a course of “uniformity→nonuniformity→uniformity”; results of XRD analysis indicated that cementite doesn’t decompose and dissolve into ferrite; mechanical test results suggested that relationship between ReL (yield strength)and ε (true strain)is in accord with Hollomon relationship and yield strength of the steel under different reduction rate can be predicted by the equation ReL=1465ε0.18.

Optimum Titanium Content of Carbonizing Steel
According to the microalloying and strengthening and toughening principles of steel, a theoretical calculation method and optimum alloying design to determine titanium content in carbonizing steel were proposed. The theoretical calculation and the experimental results showed that decreasing rationally the titanium content in carbonizing steel can effectively decrease or avoid the liquid precipitation of titanium nitride so as to improve the mechanical properties especially the contact fatigue property of the steel, while the function of controlling austenite grain size during carbonization is not effected.

Study on Inclusion Induced Fatigue Crack Initiation and Propagation in UltraHigh Strength Steel for Aerospace Application
The microbehavior of inclusion inducing crack initiation and propagation in ultrahigh strength steel MA250 for aerospace application under low cyclic fatigue loading was studied by means of SEM original position observation. The characteristics of low cyclic fatigue crack initiation and propagation were obtained. The method for accurately measuring fatigue crack growth rate in MA250 is discussed.

Effect of Boron on Hardenability of P20 Steel
Effect of Boron on the hardenability of plastic mould steel P20 was investigated in laboratory. The results show that the Ccurve of the micro boron alloged P20 is somewhat shifted to the right and formation of proeutectoid ferrite is restrained,the critical hardenable diameter (for oil quenching) is increased from 380 mm to 500 mm.

Application of Dense Flow Absorber to Desulphurization of Sintering Flue Gas
Based on desulphurization of sintering flue gas in China and the conditions at a steel mill, the dense flow absorbers for sintering flue gas desulphurization (DFAFGD) were designed for two sintering machines of 52 m2 and 68 m2. The parameters of sintering flue gas and the characteristics of DFAFGD were discussed and the main factors affecting desulphurization efficiency were analyzed.By pilot experiment, the optimized parameters were obtained.
