Large Eddy Simulation of Transient Flow Field in Continuous Casting Mold
A 3-D mathematical model based on collocated grid is built in order to investigate the transient flow in the continuous casting mold using large eddy simulation. The model can perform the spatial discretization for non-orthogonal hexahedral elements of mesh. QUICK scheme with deferred correction is adopted when discretizating the convection term in momentum equation in order to increase the stability of the code. Block-structured grid is adopted when meshing the computational domain. The transient flow field in the mold is investigated. The results indicate that the flow is unsteady and asymmetric. The nozzle jet swings periodically, and the upper recirculation zone center as well as the wave height change periodically. These transient phenomena are interrelated.

The safe, reliable, and beautiful structure functional tundish meeting the production needs can be obtained based on CAD/CAE technology.

Application of Mold Electromagnetic Stirring on Billet
The effect of mold electromagnetic stirring ( M-EMS ) on Hangang eight machine eight strand billet caster are analyzed and studied, M-EMS can enhance the continuous casting billet surface quality and internal quality, improve the continuous casting slab center porosity, shrinkage and center segregation and reduce corner cracking breakout of billet; at the same time, in the process of M-EMS application, such problems will occur, molten steel superheat is exorbitant, electromagnetic stirring coil water leakage and worse immersed nozzle slag line, and corresponding improvement measures were put forward.

Low Carbon and Low Silicon Steel Billet CC Nozzle Blockage Analysis and Improvement Measures
The reasons of nozzle clogging during the process of casting on low carbon and low silicon steel in Chongqing Steel Smelting Plant were analyzed. Control measures were put forward on the base of the analysis. Desirable effects have been obtained after the control measures were carried out on preventing nozzle clogging, such as liability accident resulting from nozzle clogging in tundish has been reduced largely; the heat quantity of continuous casting has been improved from 6-7 to 11-12.

Analyzing of Effects of SEN Wall Thickness on Solidified Shell Bonding
The reason for the frequent stick by the increase of SEN wall-thickness in Jigang medium thick slab caster was analyzed. It is because of the flow field in the different distributions and dead zones around SEN which affect the heat transfer. And it was analyzed by numerical simulation and the program was proposed.

Optimization and Improvement of T Flow Control Device in Tundish for FTSC Thin Slab Continuous Casting of Tongsteel
The forms, geometry size and position of flow control device in tounish for FTSC (Flexible Thin Slab Caster) thin slab continuous casting of Tong steel are being optimized and improved by means of the water model experiment. The flow control device in tundish has been optimized from the previous single combination of the turbulence controller and the wall to the combination of the turbulence controller, dam and wall. The production practice showed that steel flow characteristics had been improved significantly and inclusion gross reduced by 50% above, globular and inclusion of large particle grade had been significantly reduced, and tundish metallurgy played an important role.

Solidification characteristics and performance under high temperature based on the function of alloying agent in stainless steel were analyzed and its demand to continuous casting mold process and equipment was discussed. The requirement to configuration of mold was set forth. The function and condition of stainless steel mold were presented, which provided reference and support for designing stainless steel mold.

Hydraulic Vibratory Synchronization Technical Analysis and Research of Continuous Casting Mould
With No.3 continuous Vaster of Anyang Iron and Steel Company’s Second Steel as the base, the mould hydraulic vibration synchronous technology were studied. Analyze the caster of hydraulic servo control system composition and working principle, PID correction control was induced aiming at simulation results. It is concluded that PID synchronous control scheme and parameter setting adopted by No.3 caster mould can meet the demands of swiftness, accuracy and stability of the system.

Shaoguan Steel Wide Slab Caster Optimization and Improvement of SEN
Various problems arising from the submerged nozzle of wide slab caster of SISG during production were analyzed. The service life of the nozzle can be improved and the production accidents can be reduced by improving the material and size structure of SEN, optimizing the flow state and temperature distribution of molten steel in the mold and standardizing the SEN preheating. As a result, the slab quality has been improved significantly.

Improvement of Segment Roll Water Leakage in Handan Steel
Most of segment rolls leaked and penlty of equipment cooling water came from segment rolls on Danieli CCM not long after the import of CCM. Sometimes segment change has to be stopped because of segment roll water leakage. And segment was redesigned and new rolls were made to instead of it. Everything goes well.
