Research status of ferrite-pearlite non-quenched and tempered steel for automotive

Abstract:Based on the development trend of automotive parts,the production of steel for automotive parts have developed towards the direction of low energy and lightweight. Non-quenched and tempered steels are applied to the production of automotive parts conforming to the strategic development direction of carbon peak and carbon neutralization because of its advantages of energy conservation and emission reduction,low manufacturing cost,short production cycle and so on. With the in-depth study of strength and toughness of non-quenched and tempered steels,its mechanical properties have approached the level of quenched and tempered steels. Therefore,the substitution of non-quenched and tempered steel for quenched and tempered steels has become an important trend in the development of high-quality automotive part steels. Ferrite-pearlite non-quenched and tempered steel has always been the key of materials since the introduction of non-quenched and tempered steel in China with the widest use and the application. Its application in automotive parts is more mature. Improving its comprehensive mechanical properties can further expand its application range. The developing trend of ferrite-pearlite non-quenched and tempered steels for automotive parts is summarized,and its strengthening and toughening mechanism from the aspects of grain refinement,precipitation strengthening,intragranular ferrite toughening and so on is deeply discussed. The optimization of composition design and the regulation of microstructure of rolled products were proposed to lay a foundation for the final microstructure and properties of non-quenched and tempered steels. The control of secondary heating temperature,deformation and cooling system in the deep processing of non-quenched and tempered steel can further improve its microstructure and properties. A theoretical basis is provided for ferrite-pearlite non-quenched and tempered steel with higher strength and toughness,and then promoting the research and production of non-quenched and tempered steel. Finally,the related problems of non-quenched and tempered steel in research and production are summarized. Improving the comprehensive properties has become an insistent demand for automotive parts of ferrite-pearlite non-quenched and tempered steel. With the cooperation mode of "production,teaching research and application",basic scientific research of materials should be strengthened. Therefore,the precise control of the microstructure and properties of ferrite-pearlite non-quenched and tempered steel in the whole process was realized.
